What should people do with their lives today? Many things, obviously. But the most daring thing is to create stable communities in which the terrible disease of loneliness can be cured. – Kurt Vonnegut
There may be no better time of year to invest more intentionally in community than the season of Thanksgiving. Something inherently spiritual begins to happen when you share a meal and time with others.
Therefore, we are extending a Thanksgiving Challenge to the entire Mosaic community to join in a meal of thanksgiving through our various community groups. We want you to collaborate to put together some form of a Thanksgiving meal, as well as invite people not connected to a community group and others outside of Mosaic to join you. The meal doesn’t have to be turkey, stuffing, cranberries, and the like. If giving thanks over a bowl of cereal or box of pizza works best for you group, then do that!
Let’s get back to this whole inviting others aspect…Be intentional! Be missional! Invite neighbors, coworkers, or friends to join you. Don’t be the group that waited to the last minute to invite anyone to join you.
If you are not connected to a community group, that’s okay. Connect with Alan and Dawn in the Sunday group, Andy or Jennifer for the other Sunday group, or Mark and the Shaffers in the Tuesday group.
